We confirm the layout and fixtures, shut off the water and remove the old fixtures, then rough in new supply and drain lines and test them before the walls close. After tile, cabinets and counters are in, we set the toilet, vanity, faucets and shower trim, then check every connection for leaks and proper drainage.

A remodel changes the layout. Fixtures may move, drains and supply lines get rerouted, and walls can come out. A renovation keeps the layout and refreshes what is there, such as new tile, a new vanity top or updated faucets. Remodels usually involve more plumbing work, and moving plumbing may require a permit.

Should I replace old pipes during a bathroom remodel?

Often, yes. If your home still has galvanized or cast iron pipe, the remodel is the easiest time to replace it because the walls and floor are already open. Doing it later means opening finished surfaces again. We check the condition of the pipe and give you a price before any extra work is done.
